ORV OnRoute Visibility, a logistics management platform

ORV OnRoute Visibility is an enterprise platform to manage the deliveries and fleet of one of the largest logistics operators in Africa. Every day through ORV, the shipment of over 70,000 packages is managed, using over 2,000 vehicles in 6 countries.
ELbuild entered into a partnership with City Logistics Pty Ltd to develop the ORV project, handling the design, development and transfer of know-how to the local team.
We designed and created the entire system from scratch, consisting of the backend developed on Java EE technologies and hosted on CentOS on-premise infrastructure, an Android driver app, two native iOS and Android customer apps, an Angular back office portal and a set of plugins to interface with other business systems. At ELbuild, we also designed the entire user interface, graphics line, and user portals. The administration console for the City Logistics staff was built using Angular.
Every day, tens of thousands of packages are delivered by over 2,000 vehicles in 6 southern African countries. Each delivery occurs with detailed real-time visibility of its status and a series of dashboards that provide an overall view.
From 2021, ORV will also be provided as a SaaS to smaller logistics operators, according to a subscription-based model.
Our team at ELbuild also contributed to both remote and on-site training of the local staff.
